Alaska sheep hunting may be one of the most exciting of all sheep hunts. Our hunts take place on the north side of the Brooks Range. The Brooks Range is the oldest mountain range in Alaska so the terrain is less steep than most other mountain ranges in the state. There are no trees on the north side of the Brooks so we do not have to fight our way through all the alders to get to sheep country. Most of our sheep hunts start from 2,500 feet of elevation and most of our rams our taken at less than 5,000 feet. We offer 2 hunts a year and focus on quality, rams average around 37 inches. A sheep hunt can be combined with grizzly bear and or caribou.
Alaska Dall Sheep Hunt
After arrival at our main camp you will be flow via super cub to a remote spike camp to meet you guide.

|
Our spike camps consist of a 10x10 Alaska Bomb shelter tent with cots and sleeping pads, most of our sheep are taken from these camps but sometimes it will be necessary to hike out with a "fly" camp to access more remote areas.
You will need to bring a flat shooting rifle with quality optics as well as a quality pair of binoculars; your guide will have a spotting scope. You should be in the best shape possible for this hunt as you success will depend on it. I highly recommend that you bring a well broken in pair of leather hunting boots.
After Your Successful Alaska Dall Sheep Hunt
After you taking your ram you will be flown back to the main camp for a celebratory shower and home cooked meal. Your cape will go through the final fleshing process and then salted. (I recommend that you leave your cape and horns with me. I will take then to Anchorage at the end of the season have your horns "plugged" at fish and game then take them and your cape to Alaska Fur Dressers to have the cape tanned and shipped with your horns to your taxidermist.) When your hunt is over you will be flown back to Anatuvuk Pass where you will continue on the Fairbanks to start your journey home.
