You can’t eat antlers.
While this saying may hold true—unless you’re a squirrel—there’s no denying that hunters are captivated by them. Antlers embellish our homes and offices. They are transformed into tools, toilet paper holders, and chandeliers. We pursue bucks that carry them and sift through the snow after they shed.
The fascination with antlers is well-known, yet many hunters may not fully understand the annual process that bucks undergo in creating these remarkable structures. Gaining insight into this cycle can assist in patterning bucks throughout the year—or at least resolve some debates at hunting camp.
